To respond to the Coronavirus, JCMC implemented a new telehealth technology platform that allows us to treat most sick care cases safely, effectively and conveniently—and in the same day.
Through JCMC RemoteCare, a provider has full access to a patient’s medical chart and history while the provider is assessing the patient through video conferencing. The provider is able to listen to patient complaints and symptoms and then determine the best treatment needed. They may ask you to come into the office to be seen in person, suggest lab work or diagnostic tests or recommend that you go to Emergency Room in the most severe cases.
The following are JCMC RemoteCare instructions:
• Schedule an appointment by calling (910) 219-8326.
• You will receive a video conference RingCentral link via text or email.
• Download RingCentral and check whether your video and audio are working.
• 15 minutes before your scheduled video call, click on your RingCentral appointment link again to connect with your provider.
If you call after hours, then you will be connected to a JCMC OnCall provider. JCMC RemoteCare will be used for all sick visits until the Coronavirus improves in our communities and no longer poses a threat to our patients and/or staff.
